CHRIS Melling led 2-0 and 3-2 but ended up losing 4-3 to Rory McLeod in the fourth round of the Lisbon Open in Portugal.
The Keighley ace made a great start, hitting a 104 break on the way to a 119-1 victory in the first frame and taking the second 52-18.
McLeod won the next two 62-51 and 68-36, despite a break of 50 by Melling in the third, but the former world pool champion took the fifth 65-50.
However, the Scot took the last two 51-46 and 74-19 to edge through.
Melling is in action again on Thursday morning against Martin Gould in the German Masters qualifying at the Robin Park Arena and Sports Centre in Wigan.
