SIX Quest Taekwondo students took part at the Ultimate 1-1 competition in Dewsbury.
Titus Salt School student Rebecca Weir ended a great year with a convincing win in her first match, stopping her opponent in the last round in a 13-0 scoreline.
The Baildon youngster was then paired in a friendly against a heavier British national champion and was beaten but performed really well.
Leo Kowalski of Apperley Bridge won convincingly in only his second time in competition to make his overall record to played three, won three.
Baildon's Bailey Smith also performed strongly, although finishing on the wrong side of the ledger.
First-timers Kristian Javes (Bingley) and Pudsey sisters Gena and Isabelle Bene-Hamill fought well against opponents with sparring experience, Kristian missing out on first place by a point.
Coaches Karl Mann (Quest Bradford) and Jason Foster (Quest Penistone) said: "There were great individual performances from developing athletes showing courage and determination against experienced opposition.
"The performance shown by all students was extremely high. The experience gives them knowledge of what all their hard training is for."
Quest Taekwondo hold classes five days a week at either the Springfield Centre at Thorpe Edge, Bradford or Titus Salt School, Baildon Green.
They are, Thorpe Edge: Mondays 7pm-8.30pm mixed age class; Wednesdays 6pm-7pm young children's class, 6pm-7pm, Kicksister class (ladies only), 7pm-8.30pm mixed age class; Fridays 6.15pm-7.45pm, mixed age class. Titus Salt School: Tuesdays 7pm-8.30pm, mixed age class; Thursdays 7pm-8.30pm, mixed age class.
