Farsley-based Leeds Karate Academy has had tremendous news this week, with nine of their members being selected to represent JKS England in the upcoming European Karate Championships.
The championships, which are to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, will see Europe’s finest karate competitors competing for the title of European champion.
Those selected are: Ashley Scott (squad captain), Joe Hart, Stephen Brown, James Brown, Melissa Finlay, Emelye O'Brien, Richard Fewkes, Oliver Deane and Tom Mitchell.
“To have nine international competitors from Leeds Karate Academy is an amazing achievement and I am sure they can bring back some more silverware to the region,” said club instructor Sensei Matt Price, himself a former European champion.
