Bradford brothers Gareth and Anthony Green successfully came through a strong field to lift the Yorkshire Snooker Pairs Trophy at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.
This is on the back of last year's winners from the city in Wayne Cooper and Kevin Firth, who narrowly missed out on an all-Bradford final as they fell 3-0 in the semi-finals to Sheffield duo Martin Finnigan and Wayne Wootton.
There was a good turnout for the competition, with the Greens having to beat first-class opponents in every round.
They negotiated the first two rounds comfortably and edged out one of the top seeds in the quarter-finals in Dave Portman and Mick Sanderson from Sheffield 3-2.
An impressive 86 break from Anthony Green gave the pair a 3-1 semi-final victory against Leeds' Tommy Doherty and Reece Walton, before a 3-0 triumph against Finnigan and Wootton in the final secured a first Yorkshire Pairs title for the Greens.
The Yorkshire Snooker final takes place a week tomorrow, again at the Northern Snooker Centre, with Castleford's Pete Fisher taking on Leeds' Kuldesh Johal.
The presentation of all Yorkshire trophies takes place immediately following the final, with Bradford No 1 crowned Yorkshire Inter-District League Division One champions and Bradford No 2 Division Two champions.
Clayton Rugby A beat East Ward to lift the E Rosse Hopkinson Plate at Undercliffe Cricket Club.
More in-depth reports of both this and the Hey's Trophy competition will appear in this column over the coming weeks.
Tomorrow night, the first legs of the Moorhouse Shield team billiards semi-finals take place, with Clayton Rugby A hosting Queensbury Cons and defending champions Great Horton Cons taking on Clayton Rugby B.
Second legs take place a week tomorrow, and it is anticipated the final will be played on Thursday, June 12.
