Having achieved his mid-season target of a top-six Thundersport GB Superstock finish early, David Brook is raising the bar.
"Although the Arkoni Ltd ZX10 is proving much more particular in terms of set-up, I genuinely feel I can podium or even win in my rookie year on the 1,000," said the Bradford racer after the third round at Snetterton, where he came sixth, sixth and seventh.
"The weather was perfect but things got off to a slow start due to silly issues with the bike chain, which prevented us from getting some quality testing for nearly three sessions.
"However, we made a positive change to my riding position, which made it much more comfortable."
Brook qualified in seventh and had a season's-best sixth-place finish in race one, despite wheely problems.
He was happy to repeat that placing in race two, boosted by a tweak that enabled him to get on the gas a fraction earlier, but could not hold on to a third place on lap four of race three, being knocked back to seventh.
