Result of last Sunday’s match on Bonsai Lake at Lindholme Lakes: 1 Andy Clough 73lb 8oz, 2 Big Mick Stoney 63lb 9oz, 3 Bernie Hook 55lb 7oz, 4 Brian Clabburn 43lb 8oz.

The sun was out and the fish were spawning rather than feeding but 575lb of fish were caught by the 17 anglers.

The leading positions at halfway stage are: 1 Andy Clough 36, 2= Keith Gardner, Bernie Hook 33, 4 Geoff Darke 30, 5 Trevor Wood 26.

Neil Grantham, who owns Lindholme, says that luncheon meat is only banned in their open matches and does not affect private club matches.

Our next match is on Sunday, June 15 at The Oakes, Sessay, and we are on Alders Lake (high pegs), where you have to use their feed pellets.

The café opens at 7.30am, with the draw at 9am. This is also the second round of the Club Knockout.

Everyone is booked on for this match so if you can’t make it you must notify the match secretary by Sunday, June 8 or you will be charged a peg fee.

BRADFORD SEA AC

Our first trip of the season to Rhyl on Wednesday was a great success, with 867 fish being caught and returned to the sea by 16 anglers.

We ran two boats and top honours on boat one was Dave Kitchingman, who caught 271 fish, including the biggest – a bull huss of 8lb. Ben Kitchingman caught the most species.

On boat two, Paul Lonsdale had the most fish – a staggering 318 – and the biggest on this boat was by Rick Bullyment, with a bull huss of 10lb 8oz.

Our next general meeting will be held at the New Inn, East Bierley, on Tuesday, June 17 (8pm). New members will be most welcome.

BRADFORD NO 1 AA

Pete Vickerman won the members’ match at Rawcliffe Bridge with 7lb 4oz of skimmers and roach on pole and maggot. Second place went to Fred Prudham, who caught 6lb 8oz of skimmers, followed by Andy Jacques with 5lb 1½oz.

Tickets are still available for the veterans’ match at Raskelf on Sunday, June 8 and the next members’ match at Cowthorpe on Sunday, June 22 from Simon on 01274-571175.

Raskelf is continuing to fish extremely well for tench, F1s and ide on all tactics. Two keep-nets may be required at this venue, due to the large catch rates.

WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for week ending May 18 – Day ticket: Fewston 33, Swinsty 7. Total fish caught Fewston 196, Swinsty 31. Average per rod: Fewston 5.9, Swinsty 4.4. The heaviest fish caught was a 4lb 4oz rainbow trout by S Penn using bibio.

Fewston: Trout rising to take heather fly or hawthorn trapped in the surface film (small black flies). Swinsty: Bright coloured spinners being captured by greedy perch. Thruscross: Wild brown trout feeding all round the water’s edge on fly life blown from the willows.

LISTERHILLS AA

The draw for Saturday's open match on the canal at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. The evening series starts on Tuesday, May 27 at Pilley’s, draw 5.45pm. Pleasure anglers should vacate swims well before this time.

We are hoping to announce a new fishery in the near future. Would members note that the committee will always follow up any information relating to acquiring new waters which could lead to free membership to persons supplying such information.

BINGLEY AC

Plenty of small roach and skimmers are being caught on the canal at Crossflatts on breadpunch and pinkies.

GREAT HORTON AC

Result of last Sunday’s match on the canal lake at None-Go-By: 1 D Riley, 24lb; 2 K Noutch, 18lb 8oz; 3 P Tiffany, 18lb 4oz; 4 M Lawson, 15lb 13oz. The match was well attended and everybody caught fish. The biggest cheer during the weigh in was for Owen’s 3lb 8oz bag.

CENTRAL AC
