Cleckheaton Boxing Academy member Jordan Yates has won the Yorkshire Amateur Boxing Association’s 50kg title.
The referee stopped the fight in the third round after 15-year-old Yates had dominated the first two rounds with fine counter-punching.
He will now box in the national quarter-finals against the champions of either Liverpool or Manchester.
Jordan’s goal is to try and emulate local bantamweight champion Gary Sykes, who fights for the British title in Dewsbury in a couple of weeks.
The teenager said: “I’ll be there supporting Gary and hopefully seeing him pick up the title he has worked so hard for.
“One day I hope Gary will be sat ringside watching me do exactly the same thing!”
