Thornton Grammar School pupil Courtney Rivers-Gallagher has won three karate World Cup medals.
The teenager triumphed at the World Kobukan Federation KIZUNA World Cup at a packed arena in Warrington, taking gold in the kata and the team kumite for 15-17 year-olds and bronze in the senior team kumite.
In the individual kumite, Courtney lost by 0.5 of a point for a place in the quarter-finals.
A regular AMA (Amateur Martial Association) national karate squad member, she trains twice a week at USKA Bury and is sponsored by Pentagon.
