Teenage boxer Hamza Hussain, from Huggy’s in Bradford, is targeting the World Youth Championships in Bulgaria after claiming the 64kg English gold medal.
Hussain, who is in the same year group as fellow winner Muhammad Ali, from Keighley, proved too strong for Finchley opponent Eunnis Chaima to win the final in Worsley by all three rounds.
Coach Huggy Osman said: “Hamza was just too strong for him and the lad got warned in the second round for holding.
“He’s got the Three Nations in Scotland next and then hopefully on to the world juniors. That should be easier because he will have had some hard fights to get that far.”
England coach Mick Gannon said: “The standard of boxing in the finals was absolutely outstanding.”
