BRADFORD CITY AA

The weather has continued mild and a little drier, so river fishing has been good. Club members Paul Shorrocks and Peter Scholes were fishing the Hodder on a day ticket for grayling. Both caught ‘fish of a lifetime’ of over 3lb on bugs fished deep. Each also had grayling of over 2lb, while Paul had an out-of-season trout of 3lb. All the fish were quickly returned to the water and swam off strongly. Membership sales are going well, with 2014 yearbooks still available to both last year’s members and anyone wanting to join. Details of costs and fishing can be found on the club website at www.bradfordcityaa.co.uk, or by calling membership secretary Jim Munden on 07940-814431. It was bright and sunny for the club’s open match at Staveley on Saturday. The winner was Ewan Coleman of Wetherby (4lb 12oz), with Steve Fox (3lb 10oz) the leading club member. Both anglers had mixed nets of roach, skimmers, ide and perch. The next club match is the Telegraph & Argus Trophy at Staveley Lakes on Saturday, February 1. Spaces are still available and can be booked via match secretary Rod Brooksbank on 07875-275749.
