Talha Hussain won the top prize as Bradford Taekwondo Club held their annual competition and awards ceremony.
The ten-year-old collected the Stuart Howarth Trophy after being nominated as the best student of 2013 for his outstanding service to the sport.
Martial arts instructor Mohammad Zamoord said: “Talha began participating in taekwondo at the tender age of five, following in his elder brother’s footsteps.
“He wasn’t the most gifted or talented but his perseverance has been second to none.
“His dedication to help other youngsters with their taekwondo patterns, giving up his own time, was one of the main reasons for this acknowledgement.”
Mick Shanks, of sponsors Bradford Skip Hire, said: “It was a great day; very enjoyable.”
