Oakbank Table Tennis Club member Oye Jemiyo has won double bronze in the United States Disabled International Championships at San Diego.
Playing in the class one and two wheelchair events, Jemiyo reached the semi-finals and won bronze in the singles and team events.
He had dropped down the world rankings, having not been able to compete in many events due to ill health.
But the Great Britain No 1 left hospital early to attend the US competition and the medals were just reward for his courage.
Jemiyo will hopefully now improve his world ranking, which has dropped to a current No 56.
