City of Bradford members were frequent visitors to the podium at the ASA North East Region Senior and Junior Short-Course Championships in Sunderland.
Sam Lawman claimed two silver medals in the 15-and-over 50 and 100 metres backstroke competitions. He also claimed eighth place in the 50m butterfly.
In the girls’ 15-and-under 50m breaststroke, Jasmine Hanson and Megan Anderton earned their first NER medals as they took silver and bronze respectively. Hanson also finished sixth in the 100m in a personal-best time of 1min 19.36sec.
Eva Chapman, also swimming in the 15-and-under events, reached four finals and clocked three personal-best times in doing so.
Other male finalists were Cameron Walker (2), Jordan Tate, and Gianni Vienza. In girls’ events, final placings were achieved by Isabel Stirk (2), Beth Meer, Azura Cairns-Poole and Joanna Gledhill.
In total the squad, who train under the guidance of Bradford aquatics competition programme senior coach Andy Pearce, logged 27 personal-best times among 49 swims.
Meanwhile, 13-year-old Myles Stirk took the plaudits for the City squad in the BAGCAT Championships at the same venue with an impressive six titles.
These came in the 100m and 200m backstroke, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley.
Gold medals and regional titles also went to rising ten-year-old star Dalton Clapham in the 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.
He also took silver in the 100m and 400m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and butterfly, and bronze in the 100m breaststroke and butterfly.
