This trip is filling up fast, so hurry if you want to go for the big cod. We will book an extra boat if this trip is over-subscribed. We are organising a four-day trip to Guernsey in April next year. This will be a wrecking trip, targeting pollock and turbot. If you fancy a crack at these big fish, call Roger on 07773-139460 to book a place. Remember that our next general meeting is on Tuesday, December 17 at the New Inn, East Bierley, starting at 8pm. This is our annual Christmas raffle and buffet, with everyone bringing a prize to be raffled. New members will be made most welcome.

The River Aire has been stocked with another consignment of small barbel. If caught they should be treated carefully. The members’ match at Pilley’s was won by E Harrison with a catch of small roach weighing 2lb 14oz – a hat-trick at this venue. Second-placed W Barker (12oz) was the only other weigher. All competitors were troubled by pike. An item of tackle has been found on the bank. It can be claimed by contacting the secretary on 07984-597328. The next open match will be at Apperley Bridge, with details to appear next week. K Lawrence had only one fish on a recent visit to Pilley’s but it was a big bream. Membership books for next year should be available from all of the usual outlets by the end of next week.
