Catch details for month ending November 24 – Day ticket: Fewston 20, Swinsty 6. Total fish caught: Fewston 37, Swinsty 17. Average per rod: Fewston 1.9, Swinsty 2.8. The heaviest fish was a 3lb 6oz rainbow trout caught by R Mowat using ledgered worm. Fewston: This month has seen water levels back to full, with trout feeding around shallow and weeded areas. Swinsty: Trout and perch feeding as shallow water warms late morning. Ledgered worm is slow work but most productive. Washburn Valley now open Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 4pm only. Back to seven days from March 25, 2014.
BRAFORD SEA AC
The next trip we have arranged will be to Liverpool Bay on December 14. Anyone wishing to go should telephone Dave on 07711-987833 to book a place. This trip is filling up fast, so hurry if you want to go for the big cod. We are organising a four-day trip to Guernsey in April 2014. This will be a wrecking trip, targeting pollock and turbot. BRADFORD No1 AA
Raskelf Lake will be closed on Sunday for the first round of this year’s Winter Series. The draw will take place at 9am at the Golden Lion in Helperby. A floating island is currently being trialled at Raskelf as an added feature along the Railway side. Membership for 2014 will be available to purchase later this month from tackle shop agents, online (www.bradfordno1.com) and from the ticket and licence secretary.
GREAT HORTON AC
The last match of the season was at Raker Lake on November 17: 1 O Hudspith (19lb 12oz), 2 J Falcus (16lb 1oz), 3 A Hilary (15lb 1oz), 4 D Cole (14lb 3oz). The Christmas Cheer was at Poppleton Railway Lake on November 24: 1 P Dunne, 2 A Hilary, 3 P Weston, 4 T Whaling. Thank you for full attendance. The club’s presentation evening is tomorrow night at Great Horton Cricket Club from 3pm onwards. All members please attend.
SALTAIRE AA
There is a canal match on Sunday. To book on telephone Richard on 07815-092966. This is likely to be pegged on the Dockfield and Saltaire lengths. Last week’s river match results 1 Eric Wright 11lb (four chub, two grayling), 2 Fred Prudam 9lb (nine grayling), 3 James Vickerman 5lb 8oz (two chub). The next river match is on December 15.
BINGLEY AC
The planned barbel stocking by the Environment Agency went ahead this week, with several hundred being stocked in the River Aire in Bingley. Care should be taken when handling these fish if caught.
HEWENDEN AC
The winner of the last pike match was Dean Rotherea with 31lb 7oz, runner-up Bob Kemp with 26lb 13oz and third Mick Butler with 9lb. The next coarse match will be on Sunday, December 8.
LISTERHILLS AA
For Sunday’s members’ match at Pilley’s the gate will be open at 8.30am, with the draw at 8.45am. There will be no increase for club membership in 2014.
BRADFORD CITY AA
2014 yearbooks are now available by post from the BCAA membership secretary and will be available from agents in two weeks' time. The club still offers fantastic value coarse and game fishing on rivers and lakes throughout Yorkshire at £36 (£18 concessions), with a £15 joining fee for new members.
Members should note that Harrogate Angling Supplies does not sell BCAA yearbooks any more. We now have a new Agent in Harrogate – All Water Fly Fishing at 13 Westmoreland Road, Harrogate Tel: 01423 566766 - and 2014 Yearbooks are already on sale there.
The next match is on Saturday, December 7 at Staveley Small Lake. There is currently one golden peg worth £100 and a silver peg worth £50. Tickets £15 all in and are available from the match secretary on 07875-275749 or 01423-523368.
Shipton lake and Oakworth Ponds are producing good quality nets and are well worth a visit. The River Ure at Boroughbridge and Lower Dunsforth are also fishing well also, as are the ponds at Oakworth.
