A squad of young divers from Bradford won seven medals while clinching the team trophy in a day-long competition held at North Shields.
The Bradford Esprit party of 19, which included 18 novices and one master aged between six and 14, took part in the Tynemouth Trophy Novice event against other national teams.
The Bradford side won three golds, with Grace Rogerson taking the top prize in the girls group C event, George Parsonage in boys group D and Owen Passmore in boys Group C.
They also won one silver medal thanks to Elizabeth Powley in girls group E, with bronzes going to Scott Holmes, Scarlett Tomlinson and Elysia Throup.
These achievements helped Bradford Esprit win the team trophy for the third year running. It is the second team trophy they have secured this season, which runs from September until next August.
Councillor Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council’s executive member responsible for sport, said: “The team have worked extremely hard and these well-deserved achievements make a huge statement about their strength for the current season.”
The Esprit club work alongside Bradford Council’s sport and leisure service coaching and training scheme, which delivers training sessions seven days a week.
