City of Bradford members travelled to Ponds Forge in Sheffield for the Yorkshire Swimming Association’s Winter Competition, testing their racing fitness for the first time since the summer break.
The honours were shared between ten-year-old Dalton Clapham and 13-year-old Myles Stirk.
Stirk shone in the 200m individual medley, claiming the top spot. He went on to win a silver medal in the 100m backstroke, finish third in the 100m freestyle and fourth in the 100m butterfly.
Rising talent Clapham had an excellent weekend, claiming bronze medals in the 50m freestyle and 100m individual medley, fourth place in the 50m breaststroke and seventh place in the 50m butterfly.
New or improved North East Region times went to Eva Chapman, Azura Cairns-Poole, Jovana Lugonja, Jasmine Hanson, Mille Foulds, James Blaby and Gianni Vienza.
All swimmers train with the leisure services aquatic development programme under the guidance of head coach Andy Pearce and development coach Sarah Fisher.
Chris Brown, City’s British record-holder, has been selected for the Yorkshire National Inter-County Masters team for a meet to be held in Darlington in mid-November.
Both Aileen Ibbotson and Steve Eddison have been selected to represent the County as officials at the meet.
