For the last three seasons, Fastbats B have either won the Division Three title or finished bottom of Division Two in the Bradford TableTennis League, and this season they are back in Division Two trying desperately to reverse the trend.

The omens were not good as they began with a 9-1 defeat at Highdale C but things have improved following matches against the two Unity teams.

A draw against Unity C was followed by their first victory against Unity D. Greg Hill has always been a tough opponent when in full flow with his all-out attacking style, and Unity found him too hot to handle as he inspired Fastbats with a trio of wins, all in straight games.

Keith Smith won two, including an 11-9 fifth-game success against Steve Worsman in the deciding singles, and Sandra Ryder also beat Worsman and teamed up with Hill to take the doubles for a much- needed Fastbats victory.

In Division One, Embassy A maintained their unbeaten start, with Jak Dabrowski leading the way as they overcame Dewsbury Tog.

Dabrowski won all his singles and Fred Yeung took two, while Paul Stephenson added one as Embassy won 7-3 to move into second place.

In the Yorkshire League, Bradford Veterans' Thirds had a fine 6-4 victory at Keighley Thirds in Division Three.

Sarfraz Khan starred for Bradford with a treble, Chris Town added a couple and Glen Ellis secured a vital single.
