Team Heckmondwike cycle speedway competed in their last home match of the season at their Firth park track.
More than 40 competitors took part from Hull, Sheffield and Heckmondwike.
For Heckmondwike, seven-year-old Bella Naylor was third in the girls’ under-13 event, Adam Watson was third in the under-16s and, in the under-19s, Pawel Idziorek took first place with a maximum 20 points. He also won the open event with another mighty 20-point maximum, while team-mate Darren Kent was third with 18 points.
In the veterans category, Darren Kent walked away with first place and 18 points.
Heckmondwike’s newest riders Chris and Declan Summersgill, along with seven-year-old Harvey Wells, took part in their first competitive race at the Heckmondwike track, showing that anyone can compete after just a few training sessions.
