Sharon Gadd (Shipley Club) and Stuart King (Asa Briggs) are celebrating after winning the Bradford Mixed Pairs Merit.
They beat Paul Hillam (Eccleshill) and Angela Carter (Pudsey Littlemoor) in the final of a competition that saw a disappointing number of entries take part in miserable conditions at Lister Park.
Gadd and King had edged out defending champions Mally Fowler (Ladyhill) and Debbie Davis (Pudsey) in their opening game, before also seeing off Lisa Rice (Drighlington) and Andy Hodgson (Pudsey).
* Rob Lloyd (Alverthorpe) won the Yorkshire Crown Green Merit after beating Simon Walder (Spen Victoria) 21-14 in Monday’s final at Almondbury Libs.
Phil Dowgill of Clayton made it to the semi-finals after superb wins over Graeme Wilson, Robert Hitchen (Lower Hopton) and Jon Webster (Alverthorpe) before losing to Lloyd.
* Mark Regan (Brighouse Sports) and Steven Gilroy (Crossgates) were the latest qualifiers in the Shipley Classic, sponsored by HH Birch & Son Ltd and Yorkshire Building Society.
Regan, the only previous winner left in the competition, won through with wins over Barry Tinker (Longwood) 21-11, Craig Newton (Lower Hopton) 21-20 and Jack Summers (Asa Briggs) 21-13.
Gilroy advanced to finals night with victories against John Spinks (Pudsey) 21-12 and Joe Cranston (Crossgates) 21-16 after a first-round walkover.
