BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC
Bad weather and gales have stopped charter boats from getting out to the fishing grounds all round our coast. One skipper at Whitby said he had never seen the sea so rough. We can only hope things settle down and we can get back into the swing of things. Our first trip of the year will be to Rhyl on Wednesday, May 22. Any member wishing to go should call Dave on 07711-987833 to book a place. But you will have to hurry as places are filling up fast for this popular trip. Hopefully the tope will be in and we can have some good sport. Don’t forget to renew your membership. At only £10 for the year, it’s a real bargain. If you have not paid up by the end of April, you will be deemed to be a lapsed member and you will have to reapply.
BRADFORD No 1 AA
Great Heck on the Aire & Calder Canal will be closed on Sunday for a members’ match. The draw for this will take place in the anglers’ car park at 9.15am. Members are reminded to ensure all gates are closed down at Knotford and are asked to remain vigilant for anyone leaving them open. Knotford and Kirklees Lagoon are both now beginning to produce good catches of carp and tench. Gravel Pits on the River Calder is worth a visit for trout and grayling on fly or worm. The working party at Shelf Dam last Sunday managed to clear the majority of weed from the top pond and widen the path around the lake. Thank you to all the volunteers who attended.
BRADFORD PALS AC
The result of last Sunday’s memorable match at Sykehouse Lock on New Junction Canal saw Paul Chadwick win ahead of runner-up Trevor Wood and third-placed Pete Fraser. Well done to all the 16 anglers who fished in absolutely terrible conditions. Our next match is on Sunday, May 19 at Lindholme Lakes on Loco Lake, drawing at 9am. The cafe opens at 7.15am and you must use their feed pellets, with no exceptions. Anyone not fishing this match must notify the match secretary before May 12.

LISTERHILLS AA
The draw for Saturday’s open match is at 9am by the Horsforth Road Bridge. It costs £12 all in. The better spell of weather has seen fishing improve on all venues. However, fish are still not spread out and thought must be given to the selection of swim. Reports of captures are welcome.
BINGLEY AC
Sunday’s match on the canal will be held between Ferncliffe Road and Park Road, drawing 9am at Britannia Bridge. To book on contact A Greenwood on 07971-428678.
