Bradford's representation in the Yorkshire Snooker Championships came to an end at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds with defeat in the latter stages of the competition for both Gareth Green and Wayne Cooper.

After qualifying from the early rounds of the tournament, Green, the winner in 2009, was drawn against Sheffield's Dave Portman in the quarter-finals and was on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline.

Three-time Yorkshire champion Cooper, however, progressed by the same score against Castleford's Daniel Womersley, but came up against an in-form Portman and was beaten 4-2.

Oliver Lines edged a black-ball decider to win 4-3 against Sheffield's Wayne Wootton and then beat fellow Leeds player Sanderson Lam 4-2 to book a place in the final for a re-match of last season's showpiece event.

The qualifying stages of the Bradford Billiards Championship took place at the weekend at Cue Gardens, with defending champion Stephen Kershaw making it through the group stages to qualify for the semi-finals after winning three of his four matches.

Joining him will be Mark Hirst, who won all four matches, including the day's highest break of 147, Richard Lodge, with four wins from from, and Steve Wilman, with two wins.

The semi-final dates and venue have yet to be confirmed, but the line-up will be Kershaw v Hirst and Lodge v Wilman.
