BRADFORD CITY AA Members are reminded that they should now have renewed their Environment Agency rod licences before fishing the club’s waters. The next match is on Sunday on the small lake at Staveley. There are still a few places available and ticket price is £15, available from the match secretary on 07875-275749 or 01423-523368.
BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC Our first trip of the year will be to Rhyl on Wednesday, May 22. Any member wishing to go should ring Dave on 0771-1987833 to book. Places are filling up fast for this popular trip. Don’t forget to renew your membership (£10) for the year. If you have not paid by the end of April, you will be deemed to be a lapsed member and will have to reapply. Our next meeting is on Tuesday in the New Inn, East Bierley (8pm).
BRADFORD PALS AC The result of last Sunday’s match at Brafferton on the Ghost Lake: 1 Dave Riley 50lb 2oz (all caught on the waggler), 2 Brian Clabburn 20lb 4oz, 3 Paul Chadwick 15lb 8oz, 4 Bernard Hook 14lb 8oz. Sunday’s match is at Sykehouse Lock, pegs 442-441 on the New Junction Canal. Park in the anglers’ car park and we have the pegs below the lock. The post code for this venue is DN14 9AW. The draw is at 9am, although we have also to draw for the second round of the club knockout.
BRADFORD No1 AA There will be a working party this Sunday at Shelf Dam to clear weed from the top pond and general maintenance on both lakes. Volunteers are asked to meet at the lakes at 10am. Tickets are still available for the members’ match at Great Heck on the Aire and Calder Canal on Sunday, April 21 from Simon on 01274-571175. With the weather now starting to warm up, Queen Mary’s Ponds at Ripon should be worth a visit in the next couple of weeks for tench and bream. Raskelf Lake continues to fish well for F1s and ide on feeder tactics.
LISTERHILLS AA The sharp overnight frost killed off sport in last week’s trophy match at Pilley’s. However, the small roach responded. Result: 1 D Stephenson, 2 W Barker, 3 E Harrison. Several large pike have been seen prior to spawning but are not interested in anglers baits. The first open match at Rodley is on the date in the membership book – Saturday, April 20. There have been complaints of members taking non-members to Pilley’s. This is not allowed under any pretext.
HEWENDEN AC The next course match will be on Sunday, with a 9am draw in the car park, £10 all in. All members welcome. Club books run out at the end of April. New books will be available from May 1.
FAR VIEW FISHING LAKE Tackle 2U open match result for April 7: 1 J Barnes (61lb 12oz), 2 J Durkin (55lb 8oz), 3 D Rotherby (55lb 8oz), did not use two keep nets, 4 B Flatt (53lb), 5 G Jury (43lb). Next open match is on April 21, fully booked. No matches on each lake this weekend.
CLAYTON AC Result of match on April 7 at Langwith- Emma’s (19 anglers fished): 1 Derek Milner 30lb 3oz, 2 Graham Hall 29lb 2oz, 3 Steve Vaughan 17lb. Section winners: Alan Haley, Kevin Murgatroyd, Alan Sugden. Next match is April 28 at Poppleton railway lake.
BINGLEY AC The next match is on Sunday, April 21 on canal venue yet to be decided. Members are reminded they must be in position of a current EA licence before fishing any of the club waters.
