The Bradford billiards team ended their Yorkshire Inter-District League season with an impressive 7-0 win against Doncaster at Great Horton Conservative Club.
Bradford’s Stephen Kershaw scored consistently to beat Branson Hoole 200-121, John McEachran taking his match 200-164 against David Palmer.
Stephen Wilman built up a substantial lead in the second half of the game before Doncaster’s Lawrence Torn came back to lead but then, with the finishing line in view, Wilman sneaked back in front to win a lengthy encounter 200-190.
In the Bradford Snooker Championships, three-time defending champion Gareth Green (Lifeline Leisure Club) takes on nine-times former champion Wayne Cooper (Laisterdyke Cricket Club) in a semi-final on Wednesday (7.45pm) at Eccleshill Victoria Conservative Club, with the second semi between John Wellham, from Allerton Conservative Club, and Undercliffe Cricket Club’s Kevin Firth the following Wednesday.
The semi-finals of the Hey's Trophy and Hopkinson Plate get underway tomorrow night, with first-leg matches as follows: Hey's - Undercliffe CC A v Great Horton Cons; Windhill Cons A v East Bowling Unity. Hopkinson - Eccleshill Vic Cons B v Laisterdyke WMC A; Lilycroft WMC B v Lilycroft WMC A. Second legs take place a week tomorrow.
The Bradford Billiards Championship starts on Saturday at Cue Gardens, with round-robin matches determining qualifiers.
Entry can be made on the day at £12 up to 11.30am, after which the draw will be made with matches starting at noon.

The Moorhouse Shield semi-finals have now been confirmed, with matches taking place on April 25 and May 2, with Chapel Green Libs taking on Great Horton Cons and Lilycroft WMC playing Clayton Rugby A.
The final of the South Bradford League Snooker Team Event takes place on Tuesday at Queensbury Conservative Club, with Lilycroft WMC B meeting Clayton Rugby.
