Bradford Dragons aim to secure a play-off place in the final weekend of the regular season, with a home game against Team Northumbria (6:15pm at Bradford College Sports Hall) in the VCARS.CO.UK Division One today before heading to face champions Reading Rockets tomorrow.

Team Northumbria are in their first season in England’s top league and currently sit in third place with the second best defensive record in the competition.

Dragons head coach Chris Mellor said: “They’ve been one of the top defensive teams pretty much the whole year but they’ve got dangerous offensive weapons, especially on the perimeter, so our concentration needs to be very good on their key players along with our defensive rebounding.”

Dragons are currently tenth but a brace of wins could see them secure the final play-off place.

Bradford could be boosted by the return of Daumants Pabrieza from long-term injury.

Coach Mellor said “Daumants is itching to play again after recovering from two serious foot injuries but we will probably make a decision after the warm up on his participation.”

The first 75 spectators will receive a free limited edition Dragons team poster which has been provided by The Print Academy (Yorkshire).

Elsewhere, Dragons’ women will look to continue their historic season when they face Birmingham Mets in their play-off semi-final. The game takes place at Birmingham Metropolitan College and tips off at 4pm.
