Otliensians 1, Bingley Bees 2
After a slightly rusty start on their comeback from the break for bad weather, Bingley Bees were soon up to speed at Horsforth High School in the Yorkshire Women's Premier Division, a great cross from captain Jo Geldard allowing Mel Burgess to strike the ball past the keeper.
Despite all the play being in the visitors' favour, the home side managed to penetrate the strong defence and make it 1-1 just before half-time.
The Bees plan then was to score a goal early in the second half, and it worked!
A fantastic solo run and a shot from a difficult angle from player of the match Geldard within two minutes of the restart did the trick. Sarah Hall ran Geldard close for the award.
Bingley Bees Seconds 2, Heckmondwike 0
Bingley Bees' second strings returned after a three-week weather break against top-of-the-league Heckmondwike in Yorkshire Women's Division Four, and never let the front-runners into the game.
After a terrible error in front of goal by Heckmondwike after only six minutes, the hosts took the lead when the ball rolled into goal with little power.
This had a detrimental effect on the leaders, and Sian Porter made it 2-0 following a pass from fellow striker Jane Sharkey.
Any attacking moves by Heckmondwike were closed down by Bees midfielder Claire Watkins, who was their player of the match.
Supporting her on defensive duties were Lesley Brian, Jenny Bone and Michelle Clarke-McCulloch, whose match was cut short by a serious knee injury.
Ben Rhydding Sixths 2, Bingley Bees 0
Bingley Bees men let three points slip away in Yorkshire Men's Division Six North by conceding two soft goals in the second half against local rivals Ben Rhydding Sixths.
The match was otherwise very even, although the Bees had only ten men on the pitch for the first 20 minutes.
Nevertheless, the visitors had a good deal of possession and looked like being the first to score, but the majority of the first half was played out in midfield and 0-0 at half-time was a fair reflection.
The second half was much the same, with chances falling to both sides without success until an error gifted Rhydding their first goal.
The Bees then pressed strongly, good movement of the ball through a number of players making a draw seem likely.
Then a second error in defence gave Rhydding a softer goal than the first. Despite continued pressure, the Bees lost remain third in their division, with Ben Rhydding leading.
