A dozen Quest Taekwondo sparrers from Silsden, Keighley, Cullingworth, Bingley, Baildon and Greengates are taking part in the Children's International Championships in Germany on February 4-5.
The children, aged between seven and 12, will be competing against athletes from across Europe in the Olympic style at Sindelfingen, near Stuttgart.
Last year Quest won three medals, with a gold from Silsden's Jamie Kidd, ten, a silver from Rebecca Weir, nine, and a bronze from Zak Spencer, eight, also from Baildon.
The trio of medallists are going again and will be joined by novices Adam Cassere, eight, and Harry Blundell, nine, both from Baildon; Kai Hey (novice), seven, from Bingley; ten-year-old novices Gary Watt and Tyler Sparkes, both from Greengates; Daniel Sparkes (novice), 11, from Greengates; Shoaib Kesic (novice), ten, from Keighley; and advanced duo Ellie Bowden, 12, from Cullingworth and Liam Burdock, ten, from Silsden.
The local dozen will form part of a large team from Quest Taekwondo UK, which, as well as Bradford, has clubs in Liverpool, Hull and Barnsley.
Quest coach Rick Simpson is excited about his team's chances of success, saying: "We've got new blood combined with plenty of experience in the team.
"Jamie, Liam, Ellie, Zak and Rebecca are all regular competitors so will be the cool ones, and the new guys can watch and learn from their experience.
"We got three medals from five competitors in 2012, with the other two missing out narrowly. We've got some great players coming through here, they're working so hard for it and I can't wait to see them in action.".
One point is scored by a punch or kick to the body, two points for a spinning kick to the body, three points for a kick to the head and four points for a spinning kick to the head.
Quest Taekwondo, who welcome beginners, run classes at The Methodist Church, Silsden 10.30am-11.30am Tuesdays and 4.30pm-5.45pm Saturdays; Cornerstone Community Centre, Cottingley 7pm-8.30pm Wednesdays; Fitness First (Tru-Gym), Keighley 7pm-8.30pm Thursdays; Sandal Primary School, Baildon 7pm-8.30pm Fridays; and Beckfoot School, Bingley 11am-12.30pm Saturdays.
