Sam May had a night to remember in his first ever contest at the Sedbergh ABC dinner bill.
The 13-year-old was a unanimous winner over Hunslet’s Kelby Patrick and was awarded the boxer of the show trophy.
But there was a shock for Danny Manley, who suffered a majority points loss to Harram Ali (White Rose Wakefield) in their 67kg Yorkshire belt bout.
Manley thought he had done enough with some clean shots but the visitor got the decision.
Sam Sellers, 11, won unanimously against Warren Bennett (Keighley), while Joe Lumb claimed a first-minute stoppage against Halifax Star’s H Mahood.
Joe Taylor was another winner against G Smaller (Immingham) but Adam Hill lost a tough encounter to Hebden Bridge’s H Shabir.
Michael Brooke took on Paul Ingle’s nephew Harry from Scarborough, and Dylan Peel faced Kingston’s Harley Roper in two skills bouts.
