ANTONI Sarcevic stepped up his recovery with a full training session today.

Alex Pattison, Aden Baldwin and Ciaran Kelly were all in the City squad against Barrow.

And midfielder Sarcevic, who last played on August 24, is now clear to work with the squad again.

Boss Graham Alexander said this afternoon: “He trained today with us. It wasn’t a full squad obviously because the lads played last night but there were 10 or 11 and he trained in that.

“It’s the first time he’s trained with us fully from start to finish, which is great.

“We’ll just see how he’s feeling about that tomorrow once he’s had a good night’s sleep and it’s settled down.”

Sarcevic’s knee problem first surfaced on his debut at MK Dons on the opening day of the season. He felt some discomfort but played through the pain.

But that got worse in the first home game with Salford when he landed heavily on it after taking a shot.

Sarcevic played the following week against Bromley but then scans showed the extent of the injury – which has kept him on the sidelines ever since.

“He’s chomping at the bit to be out there as they all have been,” added Alexander. “They’ve been desperate to get back to help the team.

“It’s great to see them on the training pitch, first and foremost. There’s real quality in five or six players we haven’t had.

“We’re looking forward to working with all of them again. It’s good to see Sarce back out there because it’s been a while.”
