FORMER Bradford Bulls player Masi Matongo is back in rugby league after a turbulent time with injury.
The luckless prop dislocated his shoulder on his debut for the club in February 2023, then suffered the same injury twice more later that year.
The final one was particularly painful, as he had just produced masterful performances against Sheffield and York to help Bradford into the Betfred Championship play-off semi-finals.
But his shoulder went again in the final few minutes of that eliminator win over York, and he never played for Bulls again, after not being offered a contract for 2024.
He spent last season out of rugby league at professional level, but he has now returned, joining Sheffield on a one-year deal.
The Eagles will be looking to make the play-offs again this year, after missing out on the final day in September with a shock defeat against relegated Dewsbury.
