Bradford City loanee Jack Shepherd, to nobody's great surprise, has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month award.

With the score level at 1-1 at Valley Parade against Gillingham, in a match between two promotion hopefuls, Shepherd came up with something special on the stroke of half-time.

The visitors failed to properly clear a free kick and after a scramble in their box, a desperate hack by a defender sailed just outside of the penalty area.

Showing a technique worthy of the great Zinedine Zidane, centre back Shepherd waited for the ball to drop and sent a screaming left-footed volley straight into the top corner for what turned out to be the winning goal.

You can watch the incredible goal below:

Shepherd is up against Port Vale's Antwoine Hackford, Walsall's Jamie Jellis and James Tilley of AFC Wimbledon for the award.

Voting closes at 5pm on Monday, November 11, and you can choose Shepherd's effort by following this embedded link.

Sadly, Shepherd will be unable to repeat the feat at Fleetwood tomorrow, as he serves a one-game suspension for picking up five bookings.
