ROMAIN Franco has returned to France following his departure from the Bradford Bulls.

The centre scored some vital tries for Eamon O’Carroll’s side in the second half of last season, helping them reach the Betfred Championship play-off semi-finals, where they lost 21-20 to Toulouse.

Franco had arrived at Odsal in July on loan from Wakefield Trinity, with his parent club going on to get promoted to Super League last month.

But no permanent deal was agreed with Franco by Bulls, nor did Wakefield offer him a new contract.

Instead, he has been signed by French Elite Championship side Albi.

His senior career started in France with Super League side Catalans Dragons, while his move to Albi should keep him in contention internationally.

Franco helped France beat Ukraine and Wales last month to book their spot in the 2025 World Series alongside Jamaica, South Africa and the Cook Islands.

Whoever finishes as the winner and runner-up in that four-team tournament next year will qualify for the final two spots available at the 2026 World Cup.
