CITY fans are unlikely to be seeing Tyreik Wright in action again until the New Year, after Graham Alexander confirmed the wideman has suffered a nasty leg injury.

Wright damaged his quad in training, with his manager admitting he expects the issue will keep the former Aston Villa and Plymouth man for at least the next couple of months.

Speaking at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference for Fleetwood at Woodhouse Grove School, Alexander said: “Tyreik unfortunately picked up an injury prior to the last game against Aldershot.

“He’s going to be missing for probably a couple of months at least, which is a shame for us all, but especially Tyreik.

“He’s damaged his quad in training and when we had it scanned, it was confirmed as being serious enough to take him out for a while.”

That was the only fresh injury for Alexander to report and in more positive news, he hopes to have Clarke Oduor back in contention for the game against Fleetwood, the Kenya international having missed the last three games.

He also has Antoni Sarcevic, Aden Baldwin and Alex Pattison all back out on the grass, something the boss called “a major step forward”.

Ciaran Kelly is behind that trio, but he was outside running again for the first time today, though Alexander was reluctant to commit to any sort of fixed return date for either him, Sarcevic, Baldwin or Pattison.

And sadly for poor right back Callum Johnson, still to make his debut for the Bantams, his injury hell goes on.

Alexander conceded: “It’s a frustrating one, he’s not out on the grass as yet, and that one’s dragging on.

“But we have to give him the time he needs to do his best here and to be fit for us at some point this season.

“As it stands, it’s just an ongoing situation.”
