BRADFORD City have been drawn away to Derek Adams' Morecambe in the Emirates FA Cup second round.

It represents something of a grudge match, given the Scot's brief and stormy spell in charge at Valley Parade, where he clashed with the board, players and fans alike.

City also have the chance to end a poor record at Morecambe, where they have not won in their last three attempts, all while Adams was the opposition manager.

The Shrimps made it through the first round yesterday with a 2-0 win at non-league Worthing.

As for the Bantams, they had gone four years without a win in the famous old competition since beating Tonbridge Angels 7-0 in November 2020 under Stuart McCall.

But after falling behind to National League Aldershot at Valley Parade yesterday, City hit back nicely.

Strikes from Vadaine Oliver and Calum Kavanagh sandwiched an own goal from Christian Maghoma, as the Bantams went on to record a 3-1 home win.

That has set up this tie by the seaside at fellow League Two outfit Morecambe, which should see a healthy travelling contingent of City supporters, who will be pleased to have this game on a weekend.

There was widespread disappointment among the fanbase when the league fixtures were released, pitting City away to Morecambe in midweek.

A traditional away day highlight for Bantams fans, several hardy souls still made the journey over there at the start of last month to witness their side pinch a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Jack Shepherd equaliser.

Morecambe are currently bottom of League Two, with just seven points from their opening 14 games.

Conversely, City sit in seventh, the final play-off spot, just four points off automatic promotion.

The pair's FA Cup second round tie will be played on the weekend of November 30/December 1.
