CITY physio Matt Abbott is on his way to Everton.

The Bantams are advertising for a replacement for Abbott, who only joined in the summer.

Graham Alexander revealed this afternoon that the physio has been offered a job at the Premier League club.

“Matt came to see me last week to say he’d been offered a role at Everton and wanted to take it,” said the City chief.

“When you go into different levels, we always have to understand the person, whether it’s a player or staff member, and their own career progression.

“We’ll never keep people here under duress or if they don’t want to be. We understand everyone’s got their own life to lead.

“He’ll be working with us until we recruit somebody else.

“People move on in football, analysts, scouts, medical staff. It happens all the time and it’s nothing we haven’t faced before as a management staff.”

Clarke Oduor, Antoni Sarcevic and Aden Baldwin were all running on the grass today with the medical team. Alex Pattison hopes to join them at the end of the week.

Baldwin’s return has taken longer than was initially expected.

Alexander added: “He picked up a different injury unfortunately in his rehab. It was nothing major but enough to stop his recovery from his other injury.

“It’s disappointing but these things can happen and we just have to keep working forward.”
