MICHAEL Flynn has repeated his love for the Bantams – as he plots the end to their current winning run tonight.

The Cheltenham boss remains a huge fan of the club where he played 104 times between 2009 and 2012.

"Bradford is a club I love, a fantastic club," he told Gloucestershire Live.

"On the pitch we weren't great, but I loved every minute of my time there, from the people at the club, the crowd and the group of players we had, some of whom I am still good friends with now.

"I'd love to see them higher up the divisions, but it's all about doing a job to get three points for Cheltenham, being professional, but respectful as well."

Former City skipper Flynn knows the challenge facing the home side to stop Graham Alexander’s men, who have won three on the bounce.

"Graham has put his mark on the team a bit more this season and they've had a good start," added the 44-year-old.

"Andy Cook's goal return over the last couple of years has been phenomenal. He is competitive, aggressive and he attacks the ball the way it should be attacked.

"He's a good finisher and his hold-up play is good so he is a very, very good striker at this level."

Cheltenham goalkeeper coach Joe Day will make his home debut as Owen Evans remains out with a shoulder injury.

But Flynn is forced to change the team that won at Colchester on Saturday because Sam Stubbs is not allowed to play against his parent club.

Stubbs has been a regular for Cheltenham since joining from City on a season-long loan and Flynn admits he will be a loss.

"Sam has been excellent for us, he's good around the place and vocal on the pitch, wearing his heart on his sleeve.

"He gets stuck in, wins his headers and gets tight. But he can still improve and we are hoping to help him become a better defender."
