CITY need to keep going on the home front after their troubles on the road.

The Bantams are back at Valley Parade tonight to face Newport in front of the Sky TV cameras.

Graham Alexander’s side are unbeaten in BD8 since March but have found it tough on their travels so far this season – a role reversal on the previous record.

City have beaten Bromley and Carlisle at home with goalless draws against Salford and Wimbledon.

Alexander said: “It’s been solid. We’d obviously look to have won the last one but it was a difficult opponent.

“I’d say we’ve had a strong start at home allied to the way we finished at home last season. We need to build on that.

“But we can’t just think our only issue is away from home. There are still things we have to improve in our all-round game, home and away.

“I don’t want us to really see a difference between home and away. I need us to go into any game of football with a consistent mindset and approach.

“That’s what we’re trying to implement. But I’ve been really pleased with how the players have started to correct our home form at the end of last season and continued it into this one.

“We have to maintain that tonight.”

Newport have recovered from a three-game losing streak to win their last two at home.

“We expect a good opponent,” added the City boss. “They changed their formation just prior to that change of results.

“They obviously had issues, whatever they were their manager will know.

“He decided to change the formation and they’ve found a little run of form.

“We know the challenges we’ve got when we play teams. But we’ve got our own challenges at the moment and that’s where we have to focus.

“But it’s Valley Parade, it’s live on Sky, if there’s not going to be a team motivated for that game then something’s wrong.

“We’ll have a motivated opponent but I’d like to think our boys will be ready for it as well.”

City have gone four games without a win but avoided back-to-back defeats with Jack Shepherd’s late equaliser at Morecambe.

Alexander is hoping that is the switch to get them going again after a disrupted period.

“Looking at the last game, there’s more than a flicker of a response there.

“We spoke to them and showed them stuff from the game and I think there are really good players who want to play in the way we’ve talked about and trained all pre-season.

“We lost our way a little bit for certain reasons. We’re trying to fix that now.

“But we know the full potential of this squad and it’s really high.”
