CITY have signed Northern Ireland international Corry Evans on a short-term deal until January.

The Belfast-born midfielder, younger brother of Manchester United’s Jonny, began his career at Old Trafford.

He had loan spells with Carlisle and Hull, making 74 appearances for the Tigers before joining Blackburn.

Evans stayed at Ewood Park for nearly a decade and played over 200 games, partnering City skipper Richie Smallwood in midfield.

Evans joined Sunderland and captained them back to the Championship in 2022. He has spent the last two campaigns in the second tier.

He spent 15 months on the sidelines after suffering a torn ACL in January 2023 before making his comeback at the end of last season.

Evans, who has been capped 72 times by his country, has been training with City in recent days.

The 34-year-old said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to join Bradford City. It’s a massive club with a passionate fanbase, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Boss Graham Alexander added: "We’re bringing Corry in on a short-term deal to help us with his experience and quality.

“He’s another option in the midfield that can complement the personnel we already have in there."

City, who signed free agent Paul Huntington to bolster their central-defensive options last week, have been looking to add another central midfielder to fill the hole left by the absence of Antoni Sarcevic, Alex Pattison and loan signing Joe Adams.
