CITY are waiting to discover the extent of Joe Adams’ knee injury.

Adams went for a scan on Monday afternoon and is due to see a specialist tomorrow.

The on-loan Wigan midfielder was forced off just 18 minutes into his league debut against Wimbledon.

Adams only came on at half-time but limped off after the hour point following a strong collision from behind.

Graham Alexander said this afternoon: “He’s going to see a specialist tomorrow so we’re waiting to see what comes back from that.

“He had a scan on Monday evening but that has to go to the specialist first before coming back to us and his parent club Wigan before we know the full extent.”

The absence of Adams will be a blow after the Channel Islander looked bright in his two full outings in the EFL Trophy.

But City are hopeful that Jamie Walker and Lewis Richards will be in contention to face Harrogate.

Boss Alexander added: “Jamie and Lewis part-trained today. We’ll have to see how they are overnight and when they come back.

“Obviously they haven’t missed a big chunk of training. Their issues are quite recent.

“But we don’t want to take any risks because we can’t afford to lose anyone else.”

Neill Byrne and Aden Baldwin could start training properly again next week, while Antoni Sarcevic remains on course with his recovery.

Alexander said: “Sarce saw somebody on Monday and had an injection to speed up the process. That was part of the plan anyway, so he’s where we expected him to be.”
