VALLEY Parade will stage the draw for the FA Cup first round proper.

The Football Association this morning confirmed that City will be the venue for when the League One and League Two clubs enter the fray.

The draw will take place on Monday, October 14 with the programme being broadcast live on BBC2 from 7pm.

City are among 48 EFL clubs who will join the surviving 32 non-league sides in that draw.

The FA said Bradford has been chosen because of his historical links with the competition.

The iconic look of the trophy was first designed and manufactured by Bradford jewellers Fattorini and Sons, with the original version competed for between 1911 and 1993.

City lifted the cup in that first year when Jimmy Speirs scored the winning goal to beat Newcastle 1-0 after a replay. It remains the club’s only major honour.

The Bantams famously came from two down to beat Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge as well as then-Premier League Sunderland on their way to the 2015 quarter-finals.

Bradford has also been selected as the City of Culture for 2025 – and will take up that honour 100 days from now.
