BRADFORD Bulls are almost certainly guaranteed a play-off spot in the Betfred Championship and there is now a televised carrot dangling in front of them.
It has just been confirmed that the second-tier Grand Final will be shown live and for free on The Sportsman's rugby league YouTube channel on the weekend of October 19/20.
Eamon O’Carroll’s side only need to win one of their final three league games to book a place in the end of season shootout, while they have a genuine chance of finishing as runners-up, only a point behind current second-placed occupants Toulouse.
The benefit of coming second is that that side will join confirmed league leaders Wakefield in getting a bye through the eliminators and going straight into a home semi on the weekend of October 12/13.
That weekend also marks the promotion/relegation game between the side who wins the League 1 play-offs, for which Keighley are the current favourites, and the team who comes third-bottom of the Championship.
That game will decide who takes their place as the 13th and final Championship team next year, with Oldham already guaranteed promotion up to the division and Dewsbury and whoever finishes second bottom of the second tier going down to League 1 automatically.
The Sportsman might be providing up to three Cougars games in the next month, with one of the League 1 play-off semis, the League 1 final and the promotion/relegation game all to be shown on the broadcaster’s YouTube channel.
