BULLS will let Sam Hallas decide if he is ready to feature at Doncaster on Sunday.

The loose forward was given compassionate leave following the death of his dad Steve and was not involved against Featherstone.

Eamon O’Carroll is planning changes after that costly loss but will leave it up to Hallas whether he wants to be considered for the Eco-Power Stadium.

“I hope so but if he’s not, I’ll support him,” said O’Carroll. “I want to do that for Sam.

“He did a really good thing for the club and the boys to put his hand up to play when he did.

“When he’s ready, he’ll play. Certainly after watching that, he’ll be disappointed.”

The Bulls head coach has had some choice words for the squad after they fell to another last-gasp defeat. That is likely to be reflected in the line-up he picks against a team who recently beat second-placed Toulouse.

O’Carroll added: “I look at the individual performances. That’s always the case, even if we had won.

“The difficulty is that we had too many off it. I haven’t got that many to replace them.

“I have to be calm when making my decision and base it on what I feel is best for the team and the club to make sure we go and get two points.

“I can’t be emotional and just start dropping people. My job is to help them but they need to help themselves.

“They look fragile and it’s my job to pick them up.

“But I can’t shy away from holding them accountable for some of the dumb things they are doing.

“It’s just going to continue hurting us and I’m getting bored with it, if I’m honest.

“All I will be able to show is us making poor decisions and putting ourselves under pressure. Do that at any level and you’re going to get hurt.”
