FORMER City loan striker Dara Costelloe is back in League Two.

The 21-year-old Irishman has joined Accrington on a season-long switch from Burnley.

Costelloe joined the Bantams in January 2023 and made 11 appearances without scoring.

He spent last season in Scotland with loan spells at St Johnstone, where he netted his first senior goal against Livingston, and Dundee.

Costelloe said: "I am looking to develop, try and get as much as I can out of the season by helping the team, and getting some goals and assists.”

Accrington boss John Doolan told the club website: "Dara can win a game by himself.

β€œHe is a top footballer, he sees patterns of play, he sees movements, he has a range of passing, and he has got goals in him.”

Meanwhile ex-Grimsby centre half Niall Maher, who spent pre-season on trial with the Bantams, has joined National League side Eastleigh.
