Surprise package Tranmere Rovers will be crowned League Two champions, with Doncaster Rovers and MK Dons also securing automatic promotion back to League 1, according to InstantCasinos’ AI Supercomputer.

City have been predicted to do well, but not well enough to earn that coveted top-three finish, instead having to settle for the play-offs after coming fourth with 84 points, four behind third-placed MK Dons.

Conversely, the four relegated teams from League One last season will all struggle, with Grimsby Town and Bromley officially relegated out of the Football League.

Both Doncaster Rovers and MK Dons finished in the League Two play-off places last term, but were ultimately unsuccessful with Crawley Town eventually securing promotion at Wembley.

However, this season the AI supercomputer is predicting both sides will go one better and secure automatic promotion this time around.

The surprise package looks like it will be Tranmere Rovers, who are being tipped to win League 2 by AI this season, despite many bookmakers tipping to finish roughly in the middle of the pack.

Of the four teams relegated from the third-tier last term, AI is predicting Port Vale will do the best of them, finishing 13th in League Two this upcoming campaign.

Carlisle, Fleetwood and Cheltenham are predicted to finish 16th, 17th and 18th respectively, all finishing closer to the relegation zone than the play-off places.

Another prediction by the AI supercomputer is that newly-promoted Chesterfield will continue their rise and finish in the play-offs.

Bradford City, Gillingham and Notts County are set to join them and battle it out for promotion via the Wembley route.

The Bantams were relegated from League One at the end of the 2018/19 season and have only reached the League Two play-offs once since, losing in the semi-finals to Carlisle in 2022/23.

At the opposite end of the table, the supercomputer is predicting that newly promoted Bromley will head straight back down to the National League following their dramatic promotion last season via penalties.

Bromley have gained promotion last season to the EFL for the very first time in the club’s history, but they are being tipped to head straight back down to non-league with just 27 points and five wins.

If that were to happen, it would end a remarkable record which has seen no team promoted from non-league go straight back down since that system was implement instead of re-election in 1987.

As for the other relegated side, the AI supercomputer is predicting that it will be Grimsby Town.

Grimsby avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season when finishing 21st in League Two, but this year is set to be another poor one for the Mariners, ultimately resulting in relegation out of the Football League altogether.
