Derek Adams and underperforming 2021/22 Bradford City squad will probably not be remebered too fondly around these parts.

But if you are in need of a strange hit of nostalgia, then look no further than Morecambe, who have probably had a more bizarre summer of transfer activity than every other League Two club combined.

The Shrimps only had five players under contract at the end of last season and an EFL transfer embargo meant they could not offer deals to anyone else in May and June.

But when that was finally lifted earlier this month, they announced an incredible 15 signings in one day, including two players Adams signed during his time at City, in Yann Songo'o and Luke Hendrie.

Fleetwood midfielder Harvey Macadam became their 16th purchase last week, and now number 17 is through the door.

Signed last night, Lee Angol will be a familiar face to fans at Valley Parade.

He led the line alongside Andy Cook when fit during the 2021/22 season.

Angol found the net five times in 12 appearances under Adams, though two bad injuries that season restricted his playing time.

He returned to the side late on that season, now under the stewardship of Mark Hughes, and netted in a final-day win over Carlisle.

But that proved to be Angol's last competitive goal for City, as he failed to score in 20 appearances across all competitions for the club in 2022/23, before being shipped off to Sutton in the January transfer window.

The Bantams visit Morecambe on Tuesday, October 1, with Angol, Songo'o and Hendrie set to return to Valley Parade for the reverse fixture on Tuesday, January 28.
