BRADFORD Bulls inducted three former star players into the club’s Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

The ceremony was part of a Gala Dinner celebrating 90 years since Bulls first started playing at Odsal in 1934.

Karl Fairbank was there to be inducted after making a mammoth 332 appearances for Bradford between 1986 and 1996.

He is one of the few players in the club’s history to have scored over 100 tries, leaving Odsal in the mid-nineties with 110 to his name.

Fairbank also played for Great Britain 16 times during his time at Northern.

Jimmy Thompson was also in attendance for his induction, having played 145 times for Bradford between 1977 and 1981.

He was a key part of a golden era, which saw Northern claim two Division One titles, a Premiership, a Yorkshire Cup and a John Player Trophy.

A former international, Thompson won two Challenge Cups in his 11 years with Featherstone before joining Bradford, and he is in Rovers' Hall of Fame as well.

Tom Winnard was inducted by Bulls too on Saturday, with his grandson Michael present for the event.

Winnard, who played for St Helens and England during the 1930s too, scored over 1,000 points for Northern between 1933 and 1944.

It was also a cigarette card from 1934 featuring him which inspired the club’s third shirt this season.

The Hall of Fame event on Saturday was also a chance to see the club's newly-repaired 2004 World Club Challenge Trophy.

Damaged many years ago, club sponsors Metalcraft have been able to refurbish it, so it no longer has a broken handle and a wonky lid.
