BRADFORD native Elliott Whitehead is returning to Super League after nearly a decade away.

The second-row, a former England international, has joined Catalans Dragons on a one-year deal for the 2025 season.

It will be his second spell with the French outfit, having joined them from hometown club Bradford Bulls back in 2013.

He left Catalans in 2015 to join Canberra in the NRL, going on to become club captain, and he is set to play his 200th game for the Raiders later this month.

Whitehead’s rugby league journey started at West Bowling, before he joined Bulls’ academy as a schoolboy in 2005.

He made his first-team debut for Bradford in June 2009 against Wakefield, and went on to make just over 100 Super League appearances for the club.

Whitehead left Bulls in June 2013, going on to spend two-and-a-half seasons at Catalans before making his name in Australia.
