Bradford Bulls have announced that Australian hooker Tyran Ott has signed a new one-year deal to extend his stay with the club.

The 24-year-old arrived at Bartercard Odsal Stadium in March, making his debut against Halifax Panthers on Good Friday and has been an ever-present since.

The former North Sydney Bears star’s versatility has proven valuable in recent weeks, with Ott able to feature in the halves as well as at hooker.

Ott believes he will benefit from a full pre-season under Eamon O’Carroll – while also reserving praise for the club’s supporters.

He said: “I'm really chuffed to get it sorted.

"I like the direction the club is going in, we are building each week and I am really excited for the future.

“I’m getting better and better and I'm now a bit more comfortable in understanding how the team plays.

"I missed out on pre-season so it has taken a bit of time but playing multiple positions is something I have enjoyed.

"It is great to have the support from the boys around me in doing that too.

“Now I can plan for next year and make sure I get my life away from the club sorted so I know where I am.

"I am really excited for what happens on the field too and the fans are fantastic.

"I really enjoy the support we have, the number of fans that travel to our away games is exceptional.”

Bulls head coach Eamon O’Carroll said: “I’m delighted.

"Tyran is a really valuable member of our team and will play a key role in how we progress into 2025.

“He’s a very intelligent footballer with some great technical skills and his versatility has been invaluable to us.

"But its also great to see the way he conducts himself around the group, the way he continues to drive standards on and off the field.

Tyran’s been unlucky with the number of minutes he’s played with Mitch (Souter) playing so well in that starting role and he keeps knocking on my door asking to play more.

“Tyran’s gone from strength to strength since arriving at the club and I am looking forward to seeing his progression over the next 18 months.”
