CITY will kick off the new season with a tough trip to MK Dons.
Graham Alexander’s former club were heavily beaten in the play-offs in May by eventual promotion winners Crawley but have been tipped to go one better this time around.
The Bantams lost 4-1 at Stadium MK on their last visit eight months ago but gained revenge with a 4-0 victory in the return game.
It is also being shown live on Sky Sports Football as part of the new EFL TV deal but will still kick off at the usual 3pm.
After hitting the road on opening day, City face back-to-back home dates against Salford, another of Alexander's old sides, and EFL new boys Bromley before finishing the opening month at Grimsby.
Today’s fixture release has also thrown up an early return to Valley Parade for former fans’ favourite Harry Lewis as Carlisle and City renew their previous rivalry on Saturday, September 7.
And there is another clash with Derek Adams on Tuesday, October 1 when the Bantams head to Morecambe – where the Scot has recently begun his third spell in charge.
City have a home game on Boxing Day for the second year running when they face Port Vale. They start the new year with a trip to Barrow – as they did in 2022.
Easter sees a mouth-watering double with a Good Friday home game against Notts County followed by a trip to promotion favourites Chesterfield.
And City will finish the league campaign at home again with the visit of relegated Fleetwood.
