OVERSEAS duo Franklin Pele and Max Lehmann are poised for their Bulls bow – as Eamon O’Carroll admitted he has used too many players.

Pele and Lehmann were introduced to the Odsal fans as they watched Sunday’s comprehensive win over Doncaster.

O’Carroll confirmed that Aussie three-quarter Lehmann’s paperwork has cleared for him to come into the mix for next weekend’s trip to struggling Dewsbury.

The Bulls head coach is waiting on New Zealand prop Pele to get the green light but expects that in the coming days.

The pair will add further competition to a team that have won five of their last six.

O’Carroll is looking forward to the “headache” of being able to rotate a squad that has chopped and changed throughout the season because of injuries.

He said: “I’m sure every squad is going through that but it’s probably magnified because we’re here.

“It’s just about managing that period. I’ve been very lucky with the board in terms of being able to bring people in and with the loan market as well.

“We’ve definitely used too many players this year but it’s been totally out of our control. We’re lucky to have the ability to do that.

“We seem to bring a couple in and then we lose a few as well.

“On the outside, it probably looks like we’re making loads of signings – which we are.

“But I could still only name a 20-man squad this weekend so we’ve got a bit of work to do with that.”

The Bulls are assessing the severity of Lee Gaskell’s latest hamstring problem, which saw him hobbling off just minutes into Sunday’s game.

That will mean yet another shuffle in the halves – with Tyran Ott likely to continue in the role after stepping back in alongside Jordan Lilley.

With Lehmann and Pele set to increase the options, O’Carroll would love to be in a position where he can rest players as the campaign goes on and not have his selection so heavily based on who is on the treatment table.

“That’s something we’ve not been able to do,” he added. “It’s a long old season. It’s not just about having competition for places in terms of changing it because people aren’t performing.

“It would be nice to have that headache and rotate the squad.

“You look at Baldy (Jordan Baldwinson), who’s been out for a long time but is playing big minutes now.

“We might be in the position to rest him or vice versa say this is your chance to get more game time.

“It’s just good to keep the group on its toes and fresh as well.”
